The Muzaffarnagar – Haridwar Project, officially designated as the Muzaffarnagar – Haridwar Section of NH-344 (Old NH-58), is a prominent interstate highway infrastructure development spanning across the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Developed along the vital NH-344 (Old NH-58) national highway corridor, this roadway is constructed with a high-capacity Four-Lane Highway configuration. The entire project covers a total length of 78.560 kilometers, which is approximately 79 km. The specific stretch of this highway commences at Km 131.000 near Muzaffarnagar and terminates at Km 218.000 near Haridwar.

Strategically, this road section forms an integral part of the primary transportation network connecting key regional hubs across both states. By modernizing this alignment to a four-lane standard, the corridor effectively optimizes transit times, enhances commuter safety, and streamlines the heavy flow of commercial traffic, passenger vehicles, and regional tourism between Muzaffarnagar and Haridwar.

To ensure efficient traffic management and steady processing along this route, the project incorporates a dedicated tolling framework. The infrastructure comprises two operational toll plazas strategically positioned along the corridor:

1. Chhapar Toll Plaza, which is situated at chainage Km 138.552.

2. Bahadrabad Toll Plaza, located further along the stretch at chainage Km 187.370.
