The Narasannapeta – Ranasthalam Project, officially designated as the Narasannapeta – Ranasthalam Section, is an important highway infrastructure asset located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Developed along the vital NH-16 national highway corridor, this roadway is engineered to a high-capacity Six-Lane Highway with Paved Shoulders configuration. The entire project stretch spans a total length of 53.799 kilometers.

This project forms an integral segment of the larger NH-16 corridor, which stands as one of the most critical national highway networks in India, running parallel to the eastern coast. The overarching NH-16 spans approximately 1,764 kilometers, connecting Kolkata (West Bengal) to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) while traversing through the states of West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Consequently, this specific section plays a significant role in facilitating both regional and long-distance passenger transit and heavy freight traffic movement along the East Coast Economic Corridor.

To ensure structured traffic management and steady vehicle processing across this six-lane alignment, the project integrates dedicated toll plaza infrastructure. Toll operations are centrally handled along the route at the operational Madapam Toll Plaza. This facility is geared to effectively handle continuous traffic volumes, minimizing transit delays for interstate commercial carriers and regional commuters alike.
