The Chittoor – Mallavaram Project, officially designated as the Chittoor – Mallavaram Section, is a vital highway infrastructure development located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Developed along the NH-140 national highway corridor, this roadway is constructed with a high-capacity Six-Lane Highway configuration. The entire project stretch spans a total length of 61.128 kilometers. The specific alignment starts from Chittoor at Design Chainage Km 0.000 (Existing Chainage Km 158.000) and extends up to Mallavaram at Design Chainage Km 61.128 (Existing Chainage Km 41.800).

Strategically, this corridor provides important connectivity between the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. By linking these three states, the highway acts as a major regional transport axis that significantly facilitates both everyday passenger transit and heavy long-haul commercial traffic movement. The modernization to a six-lane standard helps streamline regional logistics, improves inter-state trade efficiency, and enhances travel safety across state borders.

To manage the substantial traffic flow efficiently and ensure smooth vehicle processing across this high-capacity corridor, the project integrates a dedicated tolling framework. Toll operations are centrally processed at the Gadanki Toll Plaza. This facility is positioned to effectively handle the steady volume of inter-state freight carriers, commercial trucks, and regional commuters while minimizing transit delays across the route.
