The Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalle Project, officially designated as the Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalle Section, is a key highway infrastructure asset located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Developed along the vital NH-16 national highway corridor, this roadway is engineered to a high-capacity Six-Lane Highway with Paved Shoulders configuration. The entire project stretch spans a total length of 48.605 kilometers.
This corridor serves a vital role in regional urban planning and logistics. The project functions as an important transit bypass to Visakhapatnam, facilitating the smooth, uninterrupted movement of both passenger vehicles and heavy long-haul freight traffic. By routing through-traffic away from the urban center, the highway significantly reduces gridlock and vehicular congestion within the Visakhapatnam city limits.
To ensure efficient traffic management and steady vehicle processing across this six-lane infrastructure, the project integrates a structured tolling framework. The layout comprises two operational toll plazas strategically positioned along the corridor:
1. Dukkavanipalem Toll Plaza
2. Marripalem Toll Plaza
Together, these tolling facilities help maintain optimized throughput and minimize transit delays for everyday commuters and commercial carriers traversing the region.
