The Ranasthalam – Hanumanthavaka Project, officially designated as the Ranasthalam – Hanumanthavaka Section, is a crucial highway infrastructure development situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Developed along the vital NH-16 national highway corridor, this entire infrastructure asset covers a total length of 66.544 kilometers. The corridor features a unique dual-configuration design split across its main stretches:
A high-capacity Six-Lane Highway with Paved Shoulders running from Ranasthalam to Anandapuram.
A Four-Lane Highway with Paved Shoulders extending from Anandapuram to Hanumanthavaka (Visakhapatnam).
Strategically, this road section forms an essential component of the larger, high-traffic NH-16 network. It serves as a vital approach corridor to Visakhapatnam, playing an indispensable role in supporting both daily passenger commuting and heavy commercial freight traffic movement along the busy eastern coastal region.
To manage traffic effectively across both the four-lane and six-lane segments, the project integrates dedicated tolling infrastructure. Toll collection along this route is centrally processed at the operational Nathavalasa Toll Plaza. This facility is geared to maintain optimized vehicle throughput and minimize transit delays for all long-haul carriers and regional commuters traversing the alignment.
