The Chennai – Tada Project, officially referred to as the Chennai – Tada Section, is a major highway infrastructure development located in the state of Tamil Nadu. Operating along the NH-16 corridor, the roadway is configured as a robust six-lane highway featuring a paved shoulder. The total length of this project covers exactly 33.000 kilometers. This specific stretch of highway begins in Chennai at Km 21+400 and extends seamlessly to its endpoint in Tada at Km 54+400, establishing a high-capacity, modernized transit route.

Strategically, this section holds immense value as it forms an integral part of the Golden Quadrilateral and the broader East Coast freight corridor. By accommodating heavy transit and commercial movement, it serves as a vital economic artery connecting the metropolitan hub of Chennai directly with the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh. To support the operational management of this busy corridor, the project utilizes dedicated toll plaza infrastructure. Specifically, toll collection for this stretch is managed through the Nallur Toll Plaza, which is situated at chainage Km 21+625.
